Wa’ad’s Grocery Assistance Program

Our Tulkarem Camp Partner Nada with a Wa’ad recipient, displaced from the camp.

$300/ per month for a family

Working with trusted local grocers and butchers, our partners are hoping to provide monthly Grocery Credits for women-led households without a breadwinner.‍ ‍

Why this model works:

  • Ensures reliable access to food while preserving dignity and the right to choose

  • Allows families to use their limited cash for rent, medicine, clothing, transportation, and education

  • Supports local businesses and the local economy

  • Reduces stigma by integrating displaced families into everyday community life

  • Builds solidarity between displaced families and host communities‍

As families lose income, female students are disproportionately forced to suspend or abandon their studies.

Community-based funds that supported female students in the Northern West Bank existed before October 7, but stopped as conditions deteriorated.

‍ ‍

  • We provide targeted, needs-based tuition assistance to female students who cannot afford to continue their education.

  • Priority is given to orphans; families where a parent or sibling is a martyr or deceased; those facing severe economic hardship; families with sick or injured members; survivors of violence; former detainees; divorced women; and those directly impacted by occupation. ‍

Universities Supported:

  • Al-Quds Open University

  • An-Najah National University

  • * We do not fund private universities
